The primary reason is simple: As stewards of this planet we have a responsibility, and hopefully a strong desire, to sustain and create as healthy an environment as possible for all life. Your membership joins you to a wonderful collective of people whose ultimate work in life follows that path and provides the financial support we need to continue our work.
MOFFA includes among its members farmers/growers—some who are Certified Organic and many who are not—as well as folks from all walks of life: educators, retailers/wholesalers, legislators, processors, environmentalists, etc., and most significantly consumers—individuals and families who are interested in supporting more widespread adoption of organic and sustainable practices in order to increase the supply of real, wholesome food.
In addition to supporting MOFFA's mission, Membership provides an opportunity to:
Participate in events to help spread the word about local organic in Michigan
Collaborate to make change toward local food systems in your communities and in Michigan
The MOFFA membership year runs from January 1 through December 31. Members may join at any time of the year, but all memberships (except life memberships) expire on December 31 of that year. If you're unsure whether you've paid your dues for the current year, please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.)
