NORTHAMPTON, MA, July 18, 2017—American Farmland Trust announced today that 24 Land Access Trainers will help beginning farmers and ranchers secure agricultural land as part of a nationwide, four-year-long project. AFT selected the trainers, who are located in each of the 10 U.S. farm production regions, through a competitive process. See the website for more information.
The Leelanau Conservancy just launched a long-awaited website designed to connect farmers with available farmland. The program called Farmer to Farmer (f2fmi.com) also allows landowners to promote their property to prospective growers. Similar to FarmLink programs in other states, Farmer to Farmer is a new take on farmland access and support.
MI Land Chat is a MI based online forum to connect with those who have land to lease or sell with those who need land to farm. It's that simple. Post what you have or what you need and be as descriptive as possible. Check out some guidelines for posting.
This is the "square peg" ideal for someone in West Michigan, who may not be ready yet for a full scale enterprise, but wants to work good land and needs a site. Use of my land is FREE to the right project. I am as much about growing community as I am about growing food. Share it around if you like. I will entertain any serious, practical, proposal. skabungus.blogspot.com/

Our farm consists of 120 acres south of Lansing. About 80 are tillable. Fenced and cross-fenced. Good water. Currently we are mixed-power with Suffolk Punch horses and a tractor. We are a grass based operation with cattle and sheep. We produce our own hay for winter feeding and sale. There is a 5-6 acre area inside a slope fence that would lend itself to vegtable/fruit production. Farmhouse and barns, woodlots, and some pond/wet areas. Our ground has not had any chemicals applied for over seven years. We would like to transition stewardship to organic minded family or families. Would like to sell 'as is' , complete with stock and equip. if possible. We will have...
Crosaires is a small, assisted living home in Williamston, Michigan. We are searching for a small-scale farmer to set up their business on our land. Our 10 acre property is set in Ingham County, just a few minutes north of downtown Williamston. The land is free of rent – the only "rent" we’re asking for is sharing some of the harvest with our residents and being open to find meaningful ways to interact with our elders. Currently, we can make 1 acre available for cultivation, but are happy to discuss ideas for future growth & expansion.

Tenant wanted for 20 acres with a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath house near Bangor, MI. Bangor is situated between South Haven, a very popular resort and boating community, and Kalamazoo, a growing college town. Fennville, a growing center for sustainable farming, is nearby.
The property has a mix of soil types, mostly sandy loam according to the US soil survey. It was used as a homestead at one point, but fell into disuse before I bought it. There are a couple of fenced paddocks on canarygrass and a neglected blueberry patch (1 acre?) and orchard. About half of the property is open field that could be seeded or planted as desired. The property has no woods, is mostly cleared, except for a couple of spots where sumac ...
