Crosshatch Center for Art & Ecology,  Grain Train Natural Foods Markets and Oryana Community Co-op have teamed up to offer no-interest loans for farms and food-related businesses in 13 Northwest Michigan counties.  Farmers, agribusinesses and food business entrepreneurs are invited to apply for this microloan program. This funding is specifically aimed at enhancing the innovation and diversity of food systems in this region. Ideal candidates will propose an idea that would enhance new efforts for their farm or food business and which would also have broader community and economic impact.  Applicants can apply for loans between $500 and $10,000. Loans will have a 0% interest rate and repayment terms are dependent on the loan size. There is no application fee. The deadline to apply is February 7th. Loans will be distributed early March 2020.
