Growing Hope is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working person to join our team. This job is not a pure production position, and candidates must have an interest in inspiring, working with, and teaching community members about sustainable production and larger food system issues. The Urban Farm Assistant will be responsible for implementing Growing Hope’s annual farm plans and meeting farm production targets (including harvest for our farm shares, culinary programs and sales to wholesale buyers).

We are looking to hire a part-time Gleaning Coordinator. The main duties include gleaning from Grand Rapid's Fulton Street Farmers’ Market, distributing produce to individuals and partner agencies, developing and maintaining farmer and volunteer relations, and overseeing volunteers and interns. This is a part-time position that requires the employee to work approximately 10 hours per week, 22 weeks per year during the gleaning season (May - October). Urbandale Farm has been a successful model of urban agriculture for the past eight years and due to changes in the food system landscape in Lansing, and we seek a new vision for the next phase of the farm’s operation. The Lansing Urban Farm Project (LUFP) (501c3) is seeking an experienced farmer, farmers, or farm program to manage, develop, and conduct agricultural operations at Urbandale Farm, including growing produce for the local community while maintaining access to the farm for educational purposes. The selected applicant will enter into a negotiated, three-year, contractual agreement with LUFP, with the opportunity for renewal upon successful completion and mutual agreement.
