If you have an interest in organic vegetable production, enjoy learning, and are physically able to work long hours outdoor, consider applying. Experience with farm work or other types of outdoor work is desirable but not required.  

 

Employment Details- 6 positions available, all include the potential for long-term employment for the right person.

 

Full Time: 3 positions, starting 04-16-2019 and ending 11-26-2019, 5 days a week, 40-60 hours/week, hours vary through the season, with summer hours averaging 45/week. This is an educational position that offers the opportunity to take part in all farm tasks including but not limited to farm planning, greenhouse work, transplanting, fieldwork, and harvesting, as well as running a farmers' market stand. 

Pay: $10.00/pay training pay during 2 week trial period. After completion of training, pay based on experience, minimum $10.50/hour with potential for performance based raises throughout the season. Produce included. 

 

Part Time: 3 positions, starting 06-05-2019 and ending 09-27-2019, 3 days per week, 30 hours/week. We will consider candidates that can stay through August but have preference for those that can commit to the full length of the position. A great introduction to farm work. Primary duties will include weeding, harvest of some crops such as tomatoes and squash, and helping out with other tasks as needed. Part-timers are welcome to participate in educational opportunities.

Pay: $10.00/hour. Produce included.

·        Ability to work long hours on your feet, crouched, kneeling, bent, and stretched

This is an excellent opportunity for someone considering farming as a career because it offers involvement and discussion of all aspects of the business as well as a chance to experience the cadence of the growing season. Crew members will frequently work directly with the farm owner/operators Helen and Jim, as well as experience crew members, will have access to all educational materials in our library and are invited to take an active role in their farm education by creating a wishlist of topics they would like to cover. Throughout the season the farm crew will have the opportunity to go on tours of different agricultural businesses in the area and the end of the season may be invited to participate in a season-end review of the farm.
