African American farmers, or dependent* children of African American farmers, with a verifiable farm operation by the USDA Farm Service Agency or Cooperative Extension Service, are eligible for a grant of up to $5,000 for education in college or vocational school programs.  There are other eligibility criteria.  In order for your application to be considered, you must be one of the first 100 applicants to submit your application.  The application site will close on May 2 by 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time or when 100 applications have been submitted, whichever occurs first. Your documents must be mailed and postmarked by May 2, 2016.
