Allen Neighborhood Center is seeking a Youth Programs Coordinator. The successful candidate will collaborate with the GardenHouse Director to develop and promote robust youth gardening programs, facilitate youth gardening & nutrition education programs, creating lessons on gardening, nutrition, and community service, tracking program attendance and Youth Service Corps stipends, collaborating with parents and other organizations, planning field trips, creating recipes, and grant writing. Growing Hope (GH) is seeking an experienced and dedicated part-time/seasonal Teen Supervisor. This position will be coordinating the Teen Mentor program, which is a teen employment program. Growing Hope is dedicated to “Growing Healthy Youth” and each year hires 4-6 teens to work at Growing Hope. While working at GH, Teens gain experiences in leading garden-based nutritional education activities for elementary/middle school age youth in summer camping programs throughout the local area. Teens also work at the Veggucation Station at the Farmers Markets, including the Mobile Farmers Market. At the Farmers Markets, Teen Mentors act as Nutrition Educators as they pass out food samples to Farmer Market ......

The Agricultural Marketing Service is seeking nominations for peer reviewers for the FMLFPP program. You or someone you know might be a great candidate! Peer reviewers will evaluate Farmers Market and Local Food Promotion Program applications for the 2015 application period. A press release was sent out announcing the request for peer reviewers, and potential peer reviewers must submit their application by April 27. Growing Hope is seeking an intern to assist the Ypsilanti Farmers Markets with community engagement and special events!
The position will include work with our two Ypsilanti Farmers Markets as well as our new Mobile Farm Stand which will be engaging predominantly Latino communities of Ypsilanti, so Spanish skills will be highly valued- although not required.
